Meet Kristen

Since I was very young, I was always interested in all things requiring creativity.  I loved to color as a child, and eventually taught myself to draw.  After graduating High School, I went to UW-Milwaukee a took a number of art courses, and also chose to take my very first photography class.  I fell in love!  I had one 5 hour class, and it was 5 hours of heaven for me.  Next thing I knew, I had a new career dream to work for National Geographic.  Every chance I had, I would take pictures of the animals at the Milwaukee County Zoo, or action shots of the local BMX bikers, and then onto pictures of the flowers and bugs in my parent’s gardens.  If I have a camera in my hands…I’m a happy camper.  Everyone sees the world a little differently, so capturing a moment in a photograph gives me an opportunity to share my view of the world with others.

One day, by lucky chance, I met one of my best friends and photography partner.  We both have a passion for art and photography, and that mutual passion grew into the desire to do something more.  This began my journey with portraiture. I enjoyed the new challenge of capturing an individual’s personality in a photo, and I wanted to expand my skills.  I began a course in professional photography through the New York Institute of Photography.  The many things I have learned throughout the course so far, have only increased my passion and opened new doors to the photography world.  I recently was lucky enough to be showcased in a local art gallery with 4 other artists.  I love to share my passion for photography with others, and I hope my passion translates to each print.
